Can I get better data and insights from my EAP?

Insights.
For years, employers have complained about the lack of data and insights shared by EAP providers who stood behind the guise of "privacy and confidentiality". HR managers - forced to rely only on anecdotal feedback from employees - reported feeling "helpless" and "in the dark" once an employee started using the company's EAP.

The good news is, times are changing. Inspired by tech-savvy EAP alternatives, providers are now sharing more data and insights to help inform critical business decisions - without compromising employee privacy and confidentiality.

This blog post shares best-practice examples of the types of data and insights that you can request from your EAP (or EAP alternative).

Disclaimer: Sonder is an EAP alternative.

With our prior EAP provider it would be a handful of support cases only, so the numbers were low.

Checklist for data and insights

When it comes to EAP data and insights, key elements to look for include:

  • Timeliness and regularity of reporting;
  • Segmentation (e.g. teams, divisions, locations, case-types); and
  • Meaningful insights that can inspire action.

Sonder's live dashboard

Increasingly, P&C leaders are under pressure to identify and act on new initiatives that drive lasting, positive outcomes for the wellbeing, health and safety of their people. But where should they focus their energies to make the biggest positive impact for their people?

With more access to more data than ever before, information quality has become a crucial success factor for busy P&C teams keen to make an impact. That's why we were excited recently to announce that Sonder's live employee wellbeing dashboard is now available for large enterprise customers.

Whilst a range of aggregated and anonymised data is available for all our customers, our live wellbeing dashboards are only available to large enterprises with an employee count of more than 10,000 people. We are exploring how we can give P&C teams of smaller organisations access to live data in a form that protects the privacy and confidentiality of Sonder users (employees).
