Leading health, safety, and wellbeing company Sonder has appointed Nathan Chadwick as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as the company continues its strong growth trajectory.

Nathan joins the executive team and will oversee Sonder’s financial strategy, ensuring sustainable expansion as demand for workplace wellbeing solutions accelerates. He brings deep expertise in the tech sector, having previously served as CFO at Prospection and at Airtasker, where he played a key role in its exponential growth and successful IPO. Prior to this Nathan had a successful career in investment banking in Australia and overseas.

“I was drawn to Sonder’s unique approach to delivering organisational wellbeing outcomes, by empowering employees to proactively take control of their own wellbeing and perform at their best. This translates into excellent outcomes for employees and for the bottom-line of our customers, a key strength of Sonder’s pioneering model,” he said.

Absenteeism costs the Australian economy over $35 billion annually in wages and lost productivity, according to the 2019 Absence Management and Wellbeing Survey.

Recent data from Sonder revealed that 75% of Australian and New Zealand employees in customer-facing roles experience customer aggression, with 25% reporting incidents at least once a week. Furthermore, an unsettling 29% of affected workers received no support after these incidents.

“Rising customer aggression is just one of many challenges driving businesses to invest in platforms like Sonder to keep their employees safe, healthy, and productive. Beyond being a moral and often legal obligation, prioritising employee wellbeing delivers measurable business benefits, from reducing absenteeism to improving retention and productivity,” Nathan added.

“Craig, Peter and the team have done an exceptional job building Sonder and helping customers maintain a healthy workforce. We’re hitting major milestones to kick off 2025 and it’s wonderful to be on board, and contributing to, a rapidly scaling company.”

Sonder CEO Craig Cowdrey welcomed Nathan’s appointment, highlighting the value of his experience as the company scales.

“Nathan brings a wealth of financial leadership, industry expertise, and energy to our team. His track record in high-growth tech companies will be invaluable as we continue expanding our model of care to more organisations and their people,” Cowdrey said.
